Thanks @nolte so in other words I need to subscribe to sky sports to get it?.
Because I can't see anything in stone that states Eurosport HD is part of.

I've just subscribed to Sky signature with Sky Q box.
Very surprised to see Eurosport 1 & 2 are in SD on ch 410/411.
Is this because I'm on Signature bottom basement package or should I have Eurosport in HD?.
I did look at what sport's channels UHD encompasses but Eurosport aren't listed. Seems sky sports, BT and premier.
All I'm looking for is Eurosport in HD like ive always had it.
As Eurosport are part of the SKY Signature subscription then like other subscription channels in the package I think you will need the SKY HD add on to watch in HD - only Freesat HD channels can be watched in HD without it
(P.S. These are separate to the Sports Pack add on - which are in HD as standard for UK subs but I think need the Sports HD add on in Ireland but as I say Eurosport is part of Signature not the sports pack)

Thanks @nigea99 yes I posted my initial reply before seeing your post. This clears it up. I'll just need to investigate how much extra it will be. Currently I'm not allowed any upgrades in the 'my sky' section of my tv apps im assuming because I either haven't paid my first bill yet or am on a 12mth contract. But a blue screen comes up under any upgrade I want saying 'It looks like we are having a problem with your request call this number' error code DSU_533

No, just the hd pack
Checking my bill, the standard non-discounted price is an additional 10 euro per month

You need to have the Sky HD addon. Its normally around the £7 a month mark.
The Sky Sports HD addon is for just enabling the Sky Sports channels in HD.
For UHD on Eurosport, showing some of the Olympic content and more recently Tennis coverage in UHD/HDR, you will need the Ultra Hd+HD add on, a UHD capable Sky Q box, and compatible UHD TV

I get you both cheers for the quick replies. Yeah double checked €10 pm extra in Ireland I'll call and upgrade that as watch a lot of Eurosport and Sky Atlantic will also be HD as currently that too is SD by default.

Sky HD is £7
UHD+HD is £11
Sky Sports HD now comes as stanadrd in HD. No extra addon cost if you have either the Sky HD or UHD+HD addon above.

Thanks @lettice
Think I'll just go for the Sky HD add on rather than UHD add on as I'm not subscribed to sports to utilize it fully.
The main reason ive up is that sky racing and RTV were both in SD under last provider and thankfully these are both in HD on Sky signature and this along with Eurosport is 95% of my tv viewing.
Thanks again everyone for the helpful input.

See new customers in Sky Ireland are getting offered two months free of the Sky HD and UHD+HD addons, then €10 or €14 a month.

Interesting I didn't notice this when signing up about 9 days ago unless this came out after I signed up. I'll give them a call in the morning and mention it and see how my luck is.

@rscott Unreal!. I actually signed up on day 1 seeing it came with signature but didn't explore. I just thought the sport element was overspill from tennis and Olympics. But looking at the full schedule here and there's so much. Even the world qualifiers starting 3rd April.
Thanks for this, very pleasantly surprised 🙂

Thanks for the mention of the UHD service for the Aussie Open. It's also not there for me today.
1. Is anybody else finding the UHD transmission much darker/having less brightness than the regular HD channel?
2. On the HD channel, is anyone seeing fluctuating frame rates?
Thanks.
