My son took part in the Under 17 400m final at the above chamionships. I videoed the race but since then the video has been lost.
I was hoping that Sky may have an archive of the race, or failing that, someone else may have taken a video and I could download it somehow.
The race was won by Mark Hylton and my son won the bronze medal.

I'm afraid it's highly unlikely that Sky would keep such a niche event from more than 30 years ago in their archive. Was it definitely broadcast on a Sky channel?
All you can do is email Viewer Relations and ask but I wouldn't hold out much hope.

Thanks for the reply.
I'm sure that Sky Sports covered the event and I'll try what you suggest.

There's no public mechanism by which Sky identifies, retrieves and makes available such content: facilities presumably exist for commercial use, at appropriate commercial rates (for when an audience member subsequently becomes a star, as an example) because the archive work involved and the negotiation of historic rights issues is distinctly non-trivial.
The BBC makes content available from their own archive, at a fee, where individuals have 'made a substantial contribution to a production', e.g. credited as a performer, writer, guest or production team member. This does not include studio audience members or those seen only in a crowd scene or group.
