@Chrisee My TV is a 2025 Samsung model, so that shouldn't be an issue if the app is made available.

Thanks for the other replies, I will have to look into the costing of it all.

I've always hated Discovery+ - hopefully HBO Max is much better.

Most of the apps see to work perfectly though

Great way to add value to the sky subscription 👍 I'll hopefully be switching my Disney account to sky when available

I'm intrigued to see the HBO integration as well .......

HBO Max uses the same platform and UI as Discovery+ currently does, only with a different skin.

Re: Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu into one single subscription, exclusively on Sky

So as I see it we are losing out over what we have today?
Anything on Sky Atlantic, is downloaded in UHD HDR , so to get this on any new series content, I will have to pay more?
As HBO Max basic is only HD , I would have to be HBO Max Premium, which may be subsidised with the basic cost, but still costsing me.

Or am I missing something?

hi @digigriffin

Unfortunately this is what can happen with new content as the owners start their own services and existing deals come to an end.

The deal announced between HBO & SKY  with the continuation of existing shows and the inclusion of the basic sub being included, is better than many expected after HBO announced plans to launch their own service in Europe & specifically the UK/Ireland where SKY already agreements

I am, I think it's great that Sky have managed to negotiate these deals.

Me too.

This is a great deal for Sky customers and a great negotiation Sky have done here as @Dazzasky mentions.

I think Disney+ and for the deal with Sky Cinema they already have for Paramount+ are great currently and regularly visit them across many genres, not just for Star Wars and Star Trek.

HBO we all know already from many years as Sky customers. at least we will still get it, plus a lot of their new stuff that looks great too for future viewing.

Be interesting to see what we get with the new Disney+ film channel.

As for apps, with Sky Stream, it's all really seemless for viewing across them all in my view and works very well indeed.

Great at last we get Disney+ in the Sky Stream/Glass rails, that's been a wish I know for many customers for sometime, including Myself.

As for UHD, that's always nice to have, especially for live Sport.
But for a lot of drama, the app and with the improved pq we see on Sky Stream/Glass across on demand and apps, the majority of viewing in HD is now a pleasure and often in my view do not see the need for all or any of that to have to be in UHD for viewing or care so much if I'm honest.

Still, for many films we can get our UHD and DolbyAtmos fix for films with most of the films on Sky Cinema.
Perhaps even for the new Disney film channel content, maybe if that content also appears through the rails for viewing as well,  like Sky Cinema content, it may be in UHD and Dolby Atmos also...

I see its been confirmed now. However poor planning from a release stand point. Surely you'd do both on the same day.

@craigw12  Why would sky not want the limelight for themselves rather than share it with another provider, plus the fact Skys announcement is more than just hbo max

That  part technically isn't a new deal , The same applies in Germany & Italy to new series before the end of 2025.

I agree that, that part is more of a confirmation of the existing position, with the app sub being the new bit

Re: Netflix, Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu into one single subscription, exclusively on Sky

None of the bumph seems to confirm whether Paramount+ is staying as part of the Sky Cinema deal.... did I miss something? Or are they quietly giving with on hand and taking away with the other.?

That said, potentially it's sounding like Apple and Amazon are the only major streaming services not included otherwise, which could make having everything in one place very affordable!

We curently have Netflix via our Sky subscription but our TNT is via BT and we pay an additional fee to watch it thought Sky

how on earth will that work?

no interest in Disney+ or films.

just what used to be BT sport

@splatto Rather dissapointing in my eyes and like you. I dont have much interest in these apps to be honest. I would have prefered them to bring out a better Sky stream puck that works better
