Dish a thing of the past?

I have noticed that sky now only seem to offer their TV products via the sky stream box (streaming through Wi-Fi) or the sky glass TV (again, streaming over Wi-Fi). Are Sky discontinuing use of the sky dish altogether?

I can only assume that this is because of the ongoing costs of renting the satellites?

Sky has recently extended satellite TV services until 2029 so for now they are going no where:

More preparing for the likelihood that the current trio won't be replaced around the end of this decade as they reach their operational end of life.

Re: Dish a thing of the past?

Sky have extended their satellite contract with SES Astra (the satellite owners) until 2029, so it's unlikely as of yet.
