I'm sure this might have been answered in this thread somewhere but can anyone just clarify where we are with Pro Cycling coverage as at end of Feb when Eurosport closes etc etc?
Like many other cyclists, it is only really the cycling coverage I want to watch and have been happily doing so with Eurosport and Discovery+ for many years. I get Discovery+ FOC through Sky just now but obviously that is going to change soon as we know.
Sky are now advertising an upgrade to TNT Sports for £29 per mth, slightly cheaper than the £30.99 everyone is talking about but it's not clear if that is the TNT 'Premium' with cycling included as cycling isn't mentioned in the list of sports? Also, if I go into Discovery+ to try and upgrade it says any changes to my subscription needs to be made through Sky?! Do I need to make another Discovery/TNT account totally separate from Sky with a different Email address?
I probably will just pay up at the end of the day as there is no way I want to miss it but i'm thoroughly confused now.....

@stalwart1 You need to add tnt sports to your sky account this will give you all four linear channels on the sky epg via your sky hardware and at the same time upgrade your basic discovery plus access to premium at no extra cost
you do not need another discovery plus account

We don't whether Discovery+ will be the same as before but there was always a lot more cycling there than the two Eurosport channels showed both live and on demand.
Wouldn't it be a better bet to get that the TNT offer?
. I'd say for somebody who watches cycling and not much else on Sky, cancelling Sky and replacing with D+ via a smart TV or streaming device seems a good option.

TNT has a contract with ASO until 2030
They only do the tour though
well and Liege Bastogne Liege
and Paris Roubaix
and the Dauphiné
Bah.

Why though if it is £30.99pm direct with TNT but 'only' £29 through Sky? Unless i'm misunderstanding again.......

So as you can see, I can't upgrade through Discovery+ even if I wanted to as it directs me to Sky which I can do at £29 per mth it seems. I will do that at the end of the day but am reluctant because I am not entirely confident that will get me all of the cycling I had before as cycling isn't mentioned at all in the Sky ad. I really don't think this has been thought through with only 11 days to go. I'll wait until it all goes down at end of Feb and then see how the land lies.......

@stalwart1 because Sky will be getting a "wholesale" price from Discovery to allow them small profit margin on the resale...

@stalwart1 if the cycling is broadcast on Discovery + then subscribing to TNT sports via Sky will get you the access as that includes the 4 TNT sports channels via the EPG and the premium tier on Discovery + which gives access to the sports content on the app.

'I'd say for somebody who watches cycling and not much else on Sky, cancelling Sky and replacing with D+ via a smart TV or streaming device seems a good option'.
Sorry I was misunderstanding this bit as I couldn't see why u would go direct to Discovery+ when it is £2 per mth more but I think they are saying that if cycling was literally the only thing I watched on Sky overall which isn't the case, we do still want a general Sky TV package just with the cycling added.
So I guess the £29 per mth TNT package will be for me, it is a shame it costs alot more than before but so be it if I really want to watch it.
Thanks all for your helpful replies 👍

I think the Sky hardware can make a difference to the packages you can get . I have SkyQ and can only get TNT Sports/Discovery+ if I subscribe to the Signature pack whereas I believe if you have SkyStream you can just add it to the cheaper Essentals package. I have had several goes at talking to Sky but have been unable to sort anything out that is remotely satisfactory to me so my cancellation is still effective wef 28 February.
As I also have Amazon Prime Video I am planning on adding Discovery+ at £30.99 to that. Currently there is a 7 -day free trial so I will try that first and see what cycling coverage is available, i.e. is it the same as is currently available on Discovery+? I have no interest in the other sports but I would sorely miss the cycling.

I would add that I am happy to pay the £2/month extra it costs with Prime Video for the flexibility of only having to commit to a month at a time. I am hoping there will be a few deals coming up when my broadband contract expires in August.

For anyone who is thinking that they need to stick with Sky for other channels, I would have a good look at the Freeview/Freesat offerings. I have dug out some old Freeview and Freesat boxes (as well as buying anew Humax Aura and Fire TV sticks) and see that some Sky channels are available on Freeview./Freesat. In a couple of rooms we only have 32" TVs and SD broadcasts are fine. With a smart TV ir Fire TV sticks you can get better pictures.

Ahh interesting........i'm still on Signature with Q also 🤔 and I might look at doing it through Prime if u can go month by month in that case.

This is confusing. If I go via the My Sky app, it's £29 a month on a 24 month contract but via Sky.com it's the same price but on a 31 day rolling contract.
Seems a better option.
Worth checking out if anyone is considering subscribing.
