Re: Closure of Eurosport channels 28/02/25
I see looking at my SKY E.P.G. this morning that Tomorrow*s Manchester City vs Real Madrid match is only going to be behind the red button and the T.N.T. Sports app. If this is correct I dread to think what will happen when the two Eurosport liner channels close on February 28th. Also thank goodness for the Wednesday night highlights on the B.B.C..

Re: Closure of Eurosport channels 28/02/25
It has been a great weekend of free-to-air sport here in the U.K. With The Men*s F.A. Cup. The Men*s Scottish Cup and The Men*s six nations championships on The B.B.C.. BBC 1 Scotland B.B.C. Scotland and I.T.V channels . respectively. Sadly it looks as if this could be a last hurrah with the B.B.C. and T.N.T. almost certain to gain The Men*s F.A. Cup and T.N.T. sniffing around for the Men*s six nations we might as well enjoy these events whilst we can before they go behind a Pay-Wall app.

Unfortunately it does very much look that way. With advertising revenue dropping most of the FTA channels just can't afford these sports rights with them having to rely on either just highlights or joint deals with the premium channels.

Yes. Very true and as I.T.V. found out when they had The Premership highlights from 2001 until 2004,even at 7 O Clock P.M. with Des Lynam and a very badly produced set of highlights, here in the U.K. primetime sports do not necessarily mean big ratings

Re: Cycling on Discovery+ / TNT sports
No, our free discovery is being dropped to basic and will get no sport.
It will cost 30.99 a month to get full discovery back with the eurosport sports on it and access to TNT sports channels which will take over the eurosport sports on top of the TNT sports I don't give a flying duck about.
I think Discovery think this will increase revenue with everyone flocking to get the new package, they don't know Brits very well.
If they wanted extra income they should have just started charging for our free discovery including our Eurosport instead of forcing us to get TNT in with it.

Even if they obtain no new Discovery+ or TNT Sports subscribers (which is unlikely) they will still be saving money closing down 2 channels.

Eurosport no longer in Sky sports package
My Sky Sports package includes Eurosport which I watch for Skiing and MotoGP.. Eurosport offering are being taken over by TNT which I don't watch or can afford. How can I be compensated, have Sky breached their contract with me?

Re: Eurosport no longer in Sky sports package
Eurosport isn't part of the Sky Sports Pack.
Sky haven't breached any contract as the contract allows for channels to be added and removed as decided by the channel owners. Eurosport is owned and operated by Warner Brothers Discovery who have decided to close Eurosport in favour of moving all their sporting content to their premium TNT Sports channels.

Re: Eurosport no longer in Sky sports package
My husband only watches cycling, no other sport at all so eurosport is great but we can't afford the premium package on discovery+. Had a phone call from sky yesterday offering their essentials package at half price. This apparently includes eurosport 1 and 2 when I questioned if they would still be available after the end of the month the lady claimed to not know of any changes...I declined.

Yes. I have noticed when I phoned SKY they seem eithier not to know or will not say about upcoming changes.

And you have no comeback if they remove the channels and are stuck with a contract you don't want or need...no thanks!

Re: Closure of Eurosport channels 28/02/25
Whomsoever decides eurosport will no longer be available on Sky. As Sky should be aware of upcoming changes, I do not expect them to offer me a contracted package telling me eurosport is included.
