The free Discovery+ doesn't include sport.
To view Sport you need a subscription to TNT Sports at around £30pm

I will just type again. Yes the close of the two Eurosport channels was coming, but for those of us who saved both Eurosport channels on the SKY E.P,G. in 1997 and 2016 respectivelythe news is still disappointing indeed.

Unfortunately Discovery+ Basic (which becomes the bundled version at the end of February 2025) has no Sports content.

Never said it will have sport at the end of February. Just saying that as Discovery+ (Eurosports) is bundled free at the moment there is unlikely to be any reduction in the cost of subscription.

My beef is more with Sky than WBD. I was paying something like £29/month to add Sky Signature to get access to Eurosport, specifically to watch cycling. I really have no interest in other sports or any of the other additional Sky channels. Apart from Eurosport I can manage quite nicely with Freeview channels for my entertainment so from 28 February I have no need for Signature. I asked Sky if I could remove Signature so I just have the Essentials package - yes, not a problem - and add TNT Sports - oh no, you can't do that. Also if you don't have Signature you can't have the 3 mini boxes (which I think I pay £15/month for) either as Multiscreen is not available with Essentials. So why would I keep paying £15/month for Essentials just for the privilege of a Sky Q box to watch the same channels I get in Freeview. Sky wouldn't budge on any of the package costs so reluctantly after 5 years and paying Sky probably inthe region of £5k (including phone and broadband) I gave up and cancelled SKyTV wef 28 February and I will cancel my Sky broadband deal in August when my contract expires.
Commercially, I don't see Sky's attitude as making any sense. I already had the 3 mini boxes (along with the Sky Q box) so it wasn't costing them anything so why not do some sort of deal for me to keep them along with Essentials and TNT Sports but apparently the computer says NO!. They would still have been getting £30/month plus (presumably some margin on) the TNT Sports subscription.
I already have dug out my old Humax and FreeSat boxes and got them working in anticipation of my Sky TV switch off on 28 February and in August no doubt I will be moving my broadband back to BT who currently have a very good deal on broadband and TNT Sports which my son in law tells me is available at just £45/month - less than I currently pay to Sky for broadband/landline.

You cancelled your Sky package but was it due for renewel in February anyway and you just didn't continue? I would love to cancel Sky now that Eurosport is no more but my contract lasts another year.

In case this helps anyone, I am 6 months into a 24 month Sky Stream contract. I have just finished a call to Sky requesting cancellation of my contract without penalty due to the fact I only have Sky for Eurosport and therefore to pay an additional £30 per month would cause me significant material detriment. The advisor (David) was very sympathetic, agreed with me, and cancelled my contract with 31 days notice without penalty.

Watching Eurosport*s LIVE coverage of The 2025 World Sking Championships in Austria [and how good it is] is just another reason that Eurosport leaving the SKY E.P.G. is not a very good idea!

Technically Eurosport aren't just leaving the Sky EPG, they all leaving all EPGs due to being closed down.
Things like the skiing world championships will still be available on the EPG but just from one of the TNT Sports channels depending on which ones they schedule it on.

But T.N.T. Sports have clearly stated that this will be with the same Eurosport presenters long ad breaks, even down to the big Eurosport E on the mic*s. If T.N.T. would have thier own presenters and editing faclities I could understand all of this. They do not. I hope at the very least there will be subtitles on Eurosport content at the very least.

I'm with BT Broadband and pay them to get TNT Sport (on my Sky box).
Could I therefore cancel Sky Signature and just have Essentials from Sky and TNT Sports ?

Fair comment @FastEddie1 DiscoveryPlus is available with Essentials and Ultimate TV
So sign into Discovery+ app with your BT login for TNT Sports
I also have TNT sport via BT and use the Discovery+ app on my Sky Q box or Firetvstick to watch TNT sports.

That's a consequence of Eurosport only closing in uk and Ireland whilst continuing in rest of Europe hence way tnt will take the eurowide feed for broadcasts

@JKenH Sky have always said you need signature as a subscription to be able to add addition subsciption it was the same with signature predecessor etc.
There are many reports of customers being on the Sky Q essentials package and being able to have multiscreen so either Sky have changed their ways or the person you spoke to has given you the wrong information

On a cycling forum people were talking about signing up for Discovery+ Premium for the main cycling months.
I'm thinking maybe cancel Stream and save 12 months at £33 and sign on to Discovery+ Premium at £32 for six or seven months.
Watch it on Firestick as I do now. Some football and baseball as a bonus.
