Hi all, I was just wondering is the ads showing on Channel 4 (live broadcasts) in Ireland are jumpy and seemingly pause for a second or two, or is it just me? This has been going on for about a week or so.
The actual shows themselves are broadcasting normally.
If this is happening with others, I can contact Channel 4. If it's only me, then there's no need.

I recorded the error on my phone: The Skoda advert skips then cuts off at the end.

That's as helpful as a concrete parachute.

A guess being a post grad student gives one an abundance of time to check ad's 😉

Posted by a Superuser, not a Sky employee. Find out more@Anonymous depending on whether there is a difference for the Irish market but Sky use a system called AdSmart to insert targetted ads on some channels which can be problematic so it maybe worth opting out which you do by following the instructions here https://www.sky.com/help/articles/tailored-advertising-with-sky-adsmart
The ads maybe less relevant but its a "service" I find I can live without. 😉

My classes and exams finished for now. I'm due to repeat some modules from November.

Please note that I'm specifically talking about Channel 4 in Ireland, on live TV, i.e. from the EPG guide on my Sky Q box. I am not talking about an online service, nor a catch-up/on-demand service.
The information you provided is for the Sky services online only.

Before you consider replying, I am questioning if other people are experiencing the same issue as me, specifically on Channel 4 with Ireland-tailored adverts on live broadcasts on channel 135.

AdSmart works on broadcasts too, not just on demand or online. But I don't think it's used by Channel 4.

Well @rscott is right, I've checked the FAQ page on the 'AdSmart from Sky' site (which is found here), and it doesn't look like it covers any of Channel 4's stations, authough they do need to update the channel logos in the 'When and where will AdSmart be avaliable?' section, since some of those channels have changed recently (i.e. Syfy is now Sky Sci-fi, MTV Base and MTV Classic are now MTV 90's and MTV 80's respectfully).

This is not relevant to my question though.
