Re: Changes to the TV Guide - May 2026
Or as the Reach plc ("insert town name" Live) clickbait websites will announce it:
"Outrage as beloved TV channels close down"
"Outrage" and "beloved" doing a lot of heavy lifting of course.

They are owned by That's Media Limited so not likely to be instigated by Sky.

Can't believe That's TV 2 and That's 20th Century is closing down
"The closures have intensified scrutiny of parent company That’s Media Limited, amid reports of substantial cost‑cutting, redundancies and delays in filing financial accounts.
RXTV understands from multiple sources that it is making as much as 50% of its journalists working on local TV news services redundant. That’s TV has not commented publicly on the reports. For the second time since 2024, it is late in filing its annual accounts. The company faces commencement of compulsory strike-off action by Companies House on 3rd March, if it fails to submit accounts."

The Companies House website says as of today That's Media Ltd still hasn't filed their accounts, and is now flagged as 'Active proposal to strike off': this is usually not a good sign...

Yes it is a shame and will be a gap again in the Sky guide. I've got Virgin Media but I still follow Sky my friends got it but I've noticed Sky are putting a lot of channels up as well. What will replace those channels on thats tv

Realistically with significant audience fragmentation and a collapsed advertising market it's incredibly difficult to run an EPG-listed television channel without losing money, and given the whole broadcast infrastructure is now approaching end-of-life there's very little reason for anyone to begin to do so.
Online FAST distribution is going to be the only viable method in most cases.

Yes, and don't forget they are normally "amid" something.
"Amid". The word we now always use in headlines to falsely link different things together which are not related and one does not cause the other, but we want to trick you into thinking so.

@Marlu-Nyu You’re also definitely right about that, think it was some of channels are either fake or unreliable at best. There wasn't even an option for Sky and which is owned by a company.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - May 2026
@Villaforever That's TV also has a serious issue of the channels, Much like when 80s/Oldies/Melody are being abandoned Music genre, it's basically a Freeview.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - May 2026
If That's TV are no longer Ent... I assume it would be that way to reshuffle the analysis it did on Movie genre, which does not seem to bother launching new EPG standalone. There just isn't big enough market for MTV Music losses, can do the same here?

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - May 2026
Mhmm true but I think both 603/641 should be considered as non-standard definition, to fill the gap filler for Kids in the sense that it would go a long way HD from Tuesday. This is obvious no doubt since Boomerang HD launched 2015 creates a slot where Cartoon Network merge.
