ITV Quiz is on channel 131 (132 Scotland). Sky seemed to want to put Challenge before ITV Quiz to get more traffic to their channel.

Re: Changes to the TV Guide - July 2025
Hi,
I am not they Sky Account holder, but my 87yr old mother-in-law is.
She finds it difficult to navigate around the Sky UI, so uses her Saturday newspaper tv guide to get the channel numbers and navigates by shouting at the remote, or punching the channel numbers in.
Can someone please explain:
- why many of the channel numbers have changed?
- when did this happen?
- why the printed press were either not informed in time, (or if they were, why have they not been chased by Sky to update them)?
- how this was communicated to customers? Not everyone has the mobile phone app with daily updates coming in (well that's what I expect would happen anyway).
Anyone want to shine some light? Perhaps Sky themselves...?

Sky has the right to change their channels on the channel numbers assigned to them. Other broadcasters make a deal with Sky to change their channel numbers.
when did this happen?
Sky provides information on channel changes on Sky Community "What's On" section under titles like "Changes to the TV Guide - July 2025".

and

Sky are only contractually required to inform customers on:
- Price changes or contract terms
- Removal or significant changes to paid-for channels or services (an example of this would be if Sky intended on removing LFC TV, MUTV, changing how Sky Sports works like moving it to streaming only, etc.)
- Changes affecting service availability (like planned satellite outages, etc.)
- Renewal or cancellation terms.
In regard to renaming channels where the content says the same, or moving channels around, Sky are not required to inform customers and do so at their discretion. For non-Sky channels, this is down to an agreement with Sky and the broadcaster.
The likes of Sky One being changed to Sky Showcase and Sky Max, Sky were not required to inform customers, as Sky Max broadcasts the same content as Sky One did.
If Sky decide to remove threads like "Changes to the TV Guide - July 2025" and discontinue them, Sky has every right to do so, as Sky does not have to provide these updates but does as they choose to.

What sky system does she have? Sky q, sky+, sky stream, sky glass?
One thing I really like on sky q is favourites.
You can assign the number in favourite from 1 to 99 based on your own watching.
And the favourites numbers aren't affected if a channel number is changed.
ROI sky Q Customer.
If you have questions about Sky, please post on the forums and do not send me private messages about them. I'm only a customer like you.

Which channel numbers have changed for you? The last major EPG reshuffle which affected many channels all over the EPG was in May 2018, and since then it's just been the usual changes, like Sky Cinema channels renaming and other channels coming and going.
