Brilliant, thank you for the explanation, really helpful. Pleased to hear we're getting regional BBC content in HD at last, years after ITV started it. Saves the 115 to 101 to 115 shuffle in the evenings ☺️

With BBC One HD closing on 115, I would highly suspect 115 will be used for BBC Three in England and Wales when the BBC One HD regions are upgraded. This has already happened in Northern Ireland, where BBC Three was moved to 115 as BBC Two HD was previously there before BBC Two NI HD launched.

However, I don't know what Sky/BBC will do in Scotland as BBC Alba and BBC Scotland are on 115 and 117. As per Ofcom rules. the BBC/Sky have 18 months from launch to put BBC Three between 101 and 124. This date is 1 August 2023. So it must be moved before then. I would suspect Sky might put BBC Three on channel 108 to put the EPG similar to Wales with S4C/Channel 4.

Not Wales. BBC Four is on 116. BBC Three in on 117. I do suspect BBC/Sky will swap them though.

@1Anonymous1

I believe there might be a preview loop ahead of it's launch on Monday (February 13th), just like how Sky Sports Mix was launched.

Re: Changes to the Sky TV guide - February 2023

Is there any chance of getting the new BBC 101 channel to appear at 101 in the Sky Go TV Guide? It's currently sitting at 801 with all the other HD channels (Sky Go doesn't seem to recognise smart swapping).

Sky Go doesn't recognise HD swap in any region, so short answer is no. I think it doesn't matter for Sky Go as all channels are upscaled to 720p HD regardless if they're SD/HD.

It does matter and needs to be addressed because the regional BBC 1 HD channel isn't available at all for remote recording.

Re: Changes to the Sky TV guide - February 2023

It's there... but buried way down at 801 where no one will ever find it.

Perhaps (on the box's EPG) it's the SD channels that should be by default in the 800s and smart swapped on SD only devices.

it's certainly annoying when remote recording to the have the top channel missing and the next 4 default to SD.

Re: Changes to the Sky TV guide - February 2023

so as of wednesday 22nd all regions will be Hd for bbc one so currently the regions that already hd will have HD on 101 and 115 but 115 will be bbc three Hd  so then only  have one bbc one HD at 101 but why doesn't sky go have bbc one hd on 101 why is it still sd makes it hard to record from sky go when not at home is this being looked into thanks @Chloe-W22

sorry just seen this if your logged into sky go and you have HD package on your  account  for sky Q it should recognise it on sky go or it will be hard to record anything on sky go when not at home bbc one HD should be on 101 on sky go even when clicked on record to sky box   tab on sky go thanks

Re: Changes to the Sky TV guide - February 2023

What time do the BBC 1 changes take place at on Tuesday please? Is it overnight, at 6am or at 10am? It's just that I'm looking forward to watching BBC1 Yorkshire HD on 101! Also I've heard that BBC3 HD is to return to 115 - this being the same slot that it had before it closed down in February 2016 of course, is this true?
