Re: Changes to the Sky TV Guide - July 2024

Will the Now music channels ever be available on Stream? Now 70s, 80s and Rock are available on Pluto TV for example, so they should be available as IP streams

Would be a decision for the station owners to make (google suggest Penny Street Limited, owned by Universal Music)

As far as we know, Stream isn't using generic IPTV distribution though, so presence on Pluto doesn't make appearance on the Sky online platform any more likely: if anything the opposite may be the case.

I don't think their is any techincal reason why the channels are not on Sky Stream - I suspect it is contractual.

On VirginMedia's own stream service - with the expection of about two channels - everything on their linear service is on their stream service. Including channels on Sky linear and not on Sky Stream.

VrginMedia have the NOW channels in their EPG on both linear and Stream - and offer the Pluto app too including the NOW channels.

Re: Changes to the Sky TV Guide - July 2024

I believe Sky only wants HD content on Stream/Glass.

Yes - I've been told that several times  -   but that is a contractural issue.

But the streaming versions of the NOW channels and others, are much better than the Sky linear version.

Re: Changes to the Sky TV Guide - July 2024

I really wish Sky would stop this constant renaming of the film channels every week or so.

I find it very annoying and pointless.

SkyAlexFoleyHD - so 3 films on a constant loop, genius.

Re: Changes to the Sky TV Guide - July 2024

So now with such a huge gap in the music channel library, are there any plans for us Stream/Glass users for replacement channels? The now channels seem like a good replacement imo (especially since there will be 2 more launching). Otherwise I start to wonder what will happen when more channels close down. Where will our money be going towards then? As a big fan of music tv, and as someone who relies on it for entertainment, it's always nice to have a wide variety of stations.

Re: Changes to the Sky TV Guide - July 2024

It would be shame to lose Channel 4 corporations more strongly aligned with 4Music, The Box, KISS, Magic and Kerrang! Only a few EPG music going to be down all genres are bad enough as MTV since 2020 leaves a big gap when Sky reshuffle in 2018 then had 27 channels. Universal Music Group take over 354-358 to maintain control over 361-364 become channel unavailable slots.

Sky Glass/Stream has the VEVO app which does have dedicated music channels available on it
