Only for kids! Not exactly an exciting update. Maybe a better one would be to sort all the ongoing issues that are causing problems

I'm actually really disappointed there wasn't a Sky Cinema Bank Holiday for the start of the month when Ireland (and Scotland) had a Bank Holiday. I get it that Sky is primarily a UK provider, but still.
Ireland (and Scotland, BTW) had a bank holiday at the start of August instead of at the end.
If Sky are going to do Sky Cinema Bank Holiday, they need to do it for all UK & Ireland bank holidays.
Services I use on Sky:
- Sky Q in Ireland:
- ︎Sky Signature, Sky Cinema, Sky HD, Paramount+, Discovery+ (Standard)
- Sky Ultrafast Max (Fibre Internet)
- Sky Talk (VoIP)
- Sky Mobile
- Disney+
Please treat everyone with respect. 🙂

@ZyloKai I think you have to be realistic about that. Sky will go for the UK main market. The 12th July is a bank holiday in Northern Ireland but I wouldn't expect a Sky cinema channel for it.

But though, why not? Reastically, Sky it operating a UK and Ireland business, all bank holidays through the 5 countries should be noticed.
They really should scrap the Sky Cinema "Bank Holiday" theme altogether if they're not going to observe all of them. I think the Sky Cinema Bank Holiday should be called something like "Sky Cinema Put Your Feet Up", "Sky Cinema Big Weekend" or "Sky Cinema Movie Marathon". At least then it's universal for all countries. in the UK & Ireland.

Re: Changes to the Sky TV Guide - August 2024
Without wishing to get into politics, I'm rather surprised that the Bank Holiday on the 12th is still a thing, given its explicitly sectarian historical origins.
@ZyloKai has a point though, as the temporary renaming is incorrect in several respects and does appear to be inspired from a very English perspective.

I've raised the issue with Sky contacts in the Superuser forum: I really do think it's a good point and highlights a (probably unconscious) regional bias.
