Can somebody please keep F1 commentator Harry Benjamin away from the caffeine?

He needs to calm down and breathe, he's not doing radio commentary.

Quite funny , as normally its very similar complaints about David Croft's commentary that i've seen on this forum.

Perhaps whoever is in charge of selecting the commentary team at Sky F1 has a clear preference and manner as to how they want their lead commentators to act.

Back in the day it was Murray Walker speeding up to the point of incoherence while James Hunt (after repeatedly popping out to 'look at the other side of the circuit' with a relaxing herbal cigarette) slowed down to a crawl....

I guess it was their very different styles balancing out which made them such a good team.

Yep, I agree. As soon as I heard his hysterical voice it was fast forward and watched qualifying in about mins.

Probably gonna be same for GP tomorrow. What till  its all over, watch first lap than 30x ff only stopping to watch (with mute on) if anything "exciting" happens.

I agree that Crofty was a bit excitable at the start but I reckon Martin has slowed him down to a coherent level of commentary now with the odd slip getting in now and again.

@MarkGoldsmith Was just thinking the same thing , sky can't seem to win whoever is the lead commentator 😥

OK, as I thought.

35 secs into race, 150 wpm, voice almost up to cars and dogs wrong car called (he's a pro, supposedly,) so get it right. Safety car out Benjami  goes and gets clean underwear. I hit mute button followed shortly after by f/f butt9n.

Not what I'm paying for. I want to be informed and entertained not screamed at.

Watched F2/F3 this w/e. Commentary was more professional without all the squealing.

Could well be bye bye Sky sports as I have no interest whatsover in football, not that they (Sky) care anyway and save a few quid.

I've just gotten used to it over the years.

At least this shows the commentator has some passion and enthuiasm about the product they are commentating on. What i can't stand is where they clearly draft in someone to commentate on a sport who doesn't really care about that sport.
