@FIL77 wrote:If and when all this comes together under the same umbrella, do we expect it to be app based or actual channels. ?
Both.
BT Sport broadcast channels become TNT Sports (may cut down the overall number though), the BT Sport app closes in the Summer and TNT Sports will be available via Discovery+.
Eurosport continues as is for now, rebranding after the 2024 Olympics, Eurosport player is closing (already has for new customers), with streaming via Discovery+.
Eventually all linear sports channels are TNT Sports in the UK & Ireland with streaming via Discovery+.
All of the above is confirmed in the various press releases and interview's following the announcement, but things can still change.

I think once the HBO deal has run out and whatever deal Discovery has with Sky runs out, Comcast are going to have to get their finger out.
My view is that it will eventually just be Sky's own channels and channels like Gold etc. Comcast need to bring out their own shows that they show in the
US at the same time in the UK like Belair and we haven't even seen the reboot for Quantum Leap yet.
Look at the Options that they have in the US and other channels where Sky are not operating and in France.
Discovery couldn't do a deal with Canal+ so they just launched their own streaming app!

Yep, when the current HBO/Sky deal ends, but 2 years is a long time...
Originally there was an expectation that Discovery+ would be rebranded again with HBO Max content added (Discovery Max anyone?), but it now looks like Discovery+ will stay with different subscription levels.
There is a story on the US situation here.

I think it's too early to say what's going to happen to HBO content when the current deal ends:-
Disney+ have discovered that keeping content exclusively on their platform isn't bringing the revenue they want, so are starting to license it again.

They are already making their move, that is what "Entertainment OS" and Glass/Stream are all about.
Not only are they looking to save money by weening us off satellite delivery, they are repositioning as an "experience platform" that brings all of your content, whever you get it from, together all in one place.
Sky's future is not in buying/creating all the content they used to (although they will continue to do that to a certain level), but being the platform that gets it to you, on hardware they control.

Two years is nothing in terms of tv rights and film rights take house of dragon for example that probably had at least 2-3 seasons fleshed out. There is apparently a Hogwarts legacy tv show being worked on that likely won't even be out by then.

As I said, two years is a long time.
Personally I expect a deal to be done to keep it available via Sky in some way shape or form, bit like the Paramount+ deal if you have Sky Cinema.
Ultimately, whilst cord cutting grows in poularity, Sky still control the remotes in a massive number of homes across Europe and both they and the streaming services know it.

Thank you for your enquiry.
As @nigea99 has advised Eurosport is part of the Signature package and at present we are not aware of any changes.
Thank you.

How does that help other customers doing a search with similar queries? 🙄
There are no changes to Eurosport until after the 2024 Olympics, that is the answer, it is in the WBD content linked to in the thread and confirmed by fellow users.

I completely agree. We had Sky tv to get access to all these wonderful shows from around the world.
Sky really isn't worth the money we pay on top of all the other subscriptions now...
