Are sky breaching their own contract

Sky TV is actively censoring live sport! If you're a sky sports subscriber, id recommend having a look at your fine print! Sky advertise live sports covered in full! They are actively censoring and playing alternative crowd noises over the current darts Grand Prix live action when a certain chant is being sung! Sky should and most likely do no have the right to choose what you hear being a paying customer. This is a breach of contract agreements and i would wager you are entitled to compensation for this breach. Have a look at your fine print and go after them. They are doing the same thing with other live sports, censoring injuries until they are satisfied they can show it for example. They can't decide what you can and can't see or hear during live sports! It's live sports! LIVE! Free speech, free country, freedom of choice to watch or not. Cancel them or get compensated!

@Bradarro11  If it is language that would breach the broadcasting code then yes they can censor the content ( or have commentators apologised every 5 minutes - which in my view would be a worse look than simply masking the language) or risk severe repercussions from ofcom

in that instance there is no breach of contract

And the censoring of potential injuries to players during live sports?! Football for example, you can pay to watch boxers hit each other in the face, but sky do not show replays of players twisting their ankles until they deem it safe to do so. Double standards!

@Bradarro11  Don't blame sky blame the regulator , sky only complies with the rules the regulator sets

I hate if they over focus an injury. I know they are hurt, I don't need to see them writhing on the ground in agony.

Neither do  the players' family, friends, etc need to see them in pain on the ground.

Consideration needs to be made for those connected to them.

Re: Are sky breaching their own contract

Crowd noise has been replaced for many years when it's required to block out bad language and offensive chants, it's not a new thing and no one provides compensation for it.

Editorial standards.

Viewers choosing to watch boxing are presumably expecting to see 'injury detail' which would cause a film or television to be broadcast behind a Mandatory Daytime Protection PIN if it was shown during the daytime.

It's annoying when they lower down the crowd songs

Re: Are sky breaching their own contract

Not that I really care, as I don't watch sports, but it seems to me from the comments that maybe the sports aren't being shown " live ", but maybe have a slight delay so they can be ready for any unfortunate events. If that's the case, should they be advertised as " live "?

Can you point out which specific clauses in your T&Cs you feel Sky are in breach of?
