Adverts during film on Sky Showcase

Has anyone experienced adverts during a film showing on Sky Showcase.

We were watching 'A Boy Called Christmas' when about 20 minutes in, there was a set of four or five adverts. The same again about half way through. Is this something that Sky has started to do?

Not on the Sky Cinema channels but Sky Showcase is not a Cinema channel.

That makes not okay, SKY has a Serious Problem with Ads. So Massive, and what kind of ads are just Annoying. All types Fundraiser. 
We all pay a lot for SKY!! 

And Movies on SKY Showcase can't be Downloaded, just Recorded.

Sky Showcase is a commercial channel and therefore shows ads.

OFCOM has a limit on how much time can be spent on ads so any TV company is permitted to show ads up to that limit. In fact there are plenty of channels who cheat the system a bit to be able to show more ads - e.g those that split a movie into 2 parts on the EPG.

SKY Showcase is in first place a PayTV Channel, like Sky History, SKY MAX, SKY Atlantic and all have Massive Ads.

SKY Called the Movies on Showcase, a VIP Gift.. but then they should do it without Ads.

I live in two worlds, i have SKY UK and SKY Germany, SKY Germany Gosts me 5€ / Month (normal 22€) and Sky Showcase and the other Channels are in HD only, and witout ads. (no Breakes)

And Since this Month i have SKY Sport inlusive.. Because i do not have Netflix.

What Sky UK concerns, i record the Movies and Skip the Ads after

SKY germany has just TV, SKY UK much more that that, it has Mobile Phone, Security and Broadband Internet.. that the way to his Success, otherwise it would also suffer with his "TV Service"

And is "Very Good" (WORST) Customer Service.
And by the Way even on SKY Cinema UK, are Massive Ads Between the Movies.

And Even RTL Group with his Pay TV Offer has no Commercial Breaks. Also the Sat1/Pro7 Groupe with his PAY TV. 

That is Standard in Germany.

And also HDTV without Extra Cost.

All the private channels within Germany carry ads, I've yet to watch RTL, Sat1 etc without any ad breaks (They also need the HD+ Sub for the HD variants if you don't have a Sky Subscription). 

Not sure who you're trying to fool but those channels are receiveable in the UK and need to be ad supported to survive, only the Public Service channels ARD, ZDF, 3Sat, ARTE, and the regions are ad free as they are supported by the licence fee in Germany.

You do not understand me, i not Mean the FreeTV Channels and the HD Versions of them, i mean the PAY TV Channels. Yes to pay FreeTV with Ads are also in Germany Wrong. But that is an Astra Thing.. and HD+

Sat.1 Comedy, Kabel Eins CLASSICS, Pro7 FUN, RTL Crime, RTL Living, RTL Passion, thats are Pure PayTV Witout Asd Breakes. and all are in HD Only.

Also SYFY HD, 13thStreet HD,  an All SKY own Channels. HD Only. And Ads free.

That do not Changes the Fact that SKY UK has a big problem with Adverts. Cost a lot of money and have massive Ads. And Annoying Fundraising ads as well.

The only answare Record or Download Series, and Skip the Ads.

And it is also Fact that in the UK with SKY SD TV is Still Standart. (With SKY Entertainment or new Ultimate TV oder SAT)

Additional to the previous comments:
in the UK, adverts are allowed to be 12 minutes per day or 15 minutes if spread out during the day.
in Ireland, because Sky channels have a Luxembourg licence (and can broadcast thoughout the EU), adverts can be up to 15 minutes per hour.
(Note: if registered in Ireland, it's only 12 minutes per hour)

Sky channels in Germany (as well as Austra and Switzerland) have a German licence, with only 12 minutes of adverts per hour allowed and they must follow German laws.

So if there's 4 advert breaks per hour, that's 3 minutes each. This does not include channel/programme promotion.

No, that's incorrect. There is a fixed limit of 12 minutes per hour set by Ofcom. Channels can not go over this.

Time devoted to television advertising and teleshopping spots on any channel in any clock hour must not exceed 12 minutes
