number of rings before answering service kicks in

I have a BT handsets/answering phone. How do I set the number of rings before the answering service kicks in? I tried BT *99 but it does not work on skytalk

If you're using the device's own answerphone is there nothing in the instructions that should come with the device?

@llline to my knowledge there's no Sky setting thay can change it, I'm afraid.
