Yes. Virgin should do it for you.

Thats great so if I cancel services with sky day before it should transfer next day, sky just told me I couldn't

I'd caution that while Ofcom has an 'expectation' of number portability, numerous posts indicate this absolutely isn't guaranteed.  Moving between any Openreach-based ISP (such as Sky) and the private Virgin Media broadband network is an additional complication.
