Re: What type of landline phone do I need to buy to go with sky talk

Hello.

I'm considering buying a landline and wo Derek if anybody had any info on which landlines will work using sky talk and sky voice?

I've read all of the above and have noted BT landlines won't work with the sky hub so does anybody know which landlines do work with the sky hub?

Any standard DECT phone will work.

Could you please explain what a Dect phone is so I know where to look at buying one?

Thanks

@Graham572

'Digital Enhanced Cordless Telecommunications' is the wireless (not 'WiFi') signal between domestic handsets and their base station: any household multi-phone set you purchase from Argos or similar retailer will be DECT by default.  The base-station unit plugs into the phone socket on the Sky Hub.

It's BT 'Digital Voice' handsets and VoIP hardware which will not work with Sky Talk Internet Calls.

Just to add, if you particularly want one, a standard BT handset will work. It's only those BT phones designed to work with their Digital Voice service that won't work.

You can get a standard plug in phone from Argos from £14.99 and a cordless handset from £19.99
