Vodafone to Sky landline transfer gone wrong

I moved from Vodafone to Sky on 29/01/2025 and requested my landline number to transfer across.

On connection day the landline number was new.  Sky have checked and they requested the number, but when they checked Openreach received a different number from Vodafone.

I have called Vodafone and the say that the issue is with Sky and Sky say it's Vodafone as they gave the wrong details to Openreach.

No Landline Transfer

I transferred from Vodafone to Sky a week ago and was promised my landline number would come with me. But Sky have failed with this, a number that we have had for many years and I don't know who will be calling me on it. Not a happy bunny, will I be staying with Sky I doubt it, they have let me down hugely with this. Everyone you speak to there say it will be sorted in a couple of days-it hasn't. Really annoyed with this.

Re: Vodafone to Sky landline transfer gone wrong

I did the same, and everything I read about this dictates that it is the new Provider (Sky) who is responsible for the smooth switch-over. It has been under a so-called one-touch switch through Ofcom since September last year, but we all know how good they are. I am now into a week with Sky and still no VoIP number. My old landline number is in limbo it seems, even though this should now be smooth. If Sky doesn't get their act together, I will be leaving them, after all they gave me assurances this would be no problem. I may we consider taking legal action in this process as I have no idea who is calling my old number.

Re: Vodafone to Sky landline transfer gone wrong

I had to leave sky,  it was my only option to get my landline number back.  BT sorted it all out and I have my landline number back.  Skys customer service was and is appalling.  Will never use Sky again.

That sounds odd. I'm not sure how the switch from Vodafone could have completed without a phone number being assigned to your Sky service. Have you tried dialling 17070 to see what the recorded message says?
