Use of landline

I thought I had a package whereby I could use my landline over the wi-fi for free but I have been charged. Should I have been charged or is the charge a mistake?

Yes. Internet calls (Sky VOIP) are charged in exactly the same way as standard calls. You might want to consider signing up for a call package with a fixed monthly subscription, if you use the phone frequently.

Unless they've changed the billing layout, the Sky Talk Internet Calls service is shown as 'free' alongside Sky Broadband.  Unfortunately this fails to indicate that actually making outbound calls has a very substantial per-minute cost unless there's an appropriate add-on in place (Sky Talk 'Evenings and Weekends Extra', 'Anytime Extra' or 'International Extra')
