Yes, of course.

 

Not porting your number wouldn't have made the switch any quicker.

 

If you want to do away with the landline service (I pretty much have too), all you need do is to make sure you're not paying for a call package. That's the only cost.

Note that you still need the data circuit (copper pair or optical fibre) to deliver the broadband, so there's no saving on 'line rental'.  As @Mark39 indicates, there isn't any cost to having the default PAYG 'Sky Talk Internet Calls' if there's no outbound dialing.

You need to make contact with Open reach as there appears to be a fault.

Openreach will not speak with the end customer. They only speak with the relevant ISP.
