Sky talk can receive calls but not make them

Hi,

It appears that this started around yesterday afternoon although it could've been earlier. For some reason we can't make outgoing calls on the phone. Can receive calls fine. Soon as you try and phone someone, as the phone starts to dial the number the line immediately goes engaged. Doesn't matter what number you try whether it's another landline or a mobile. It's standard Sky Talk not plugged in via the broadband router or anything, just into the wall socket with microfilters. Broadband works fine. Tried another microfilter. Tried another phone (wired one instead of our cordless one). Tried resetting the broadband router in case something on that was causing problems as when I tried the service checker it said all was fine apart from Wi-Fi, which was actually also working fine, run tests and all shows as fine now! Tried putting my phone number into the service checker and it said it was all working, which is obviously not correct as there's definitely a problem! Can only assume this is a problem at Sky's end.

Thanks for the reply. Phoned Sky on Thursday and got the fault logged. Operator said we'd need an engineer visit so presumably that was booked. Dialled out on the phone this morning and it's working fine now, so whether an engineer had to come out yesterday and do something at the exchange or whether it was a problem further up the network I don't know but it seems to all be working now as I say. 👍

Usually if an engineer is booked for faults like this it will be an issue outside of your property probably in your local exchange,
