Sky Rebooked Engineer that was Due in May to Start of October

I have signed up for Broadband at the start of May Booked the Engineer on the 31st after OpenReach cane and installed some Wires into my Garden. Then got a Message saying my Order was deyaled and then a Text saying that is has being booked from the 31st of May to the 3rd of October. I would rather Cancel that have to use my data for 4 Months. Would the wires used from Openreach work if i was to go the BT or Virgin Instead. Is it possible to change the Appoitment back to a Closer date.

I imagine the delay here will be Openreach's so it's unlikely that any other provider would be able to progress the work any more quickly. Virgin use a different infrastructure.

You could check with Sky, but I expect you've been allocated the new date by Openreach.

Thing Is The Man from Openreach said he was all done with the work the monday before the 31st when sky was supose to Install my Braodband. I will probably phone Sky tomorrow but if it is still Months away i'll just have to have a ring round for other Broadbands and see if they will be quicker

Any other ISP using Openreach infrastructure will be dependent on Openreach timescales.

You'd need to get service from Virgin or another altnet (typically 'full fibre') ISP to avoid this, and they can only offer anything in areas where they have their own private infrastructure deployed.

Ah I see what you mean. I'll speak to them as well even if they have finshed the work at my house and i'll see what they suggest as well.
