Re: my broadband is working but my landline is not, why is it made so hard to speak to some one

Same here!  My landline suddenly stopped working teatime today.  There is a dial tone but it does not call any number and won't receive calls.  I sat on FaceTime with my sister as she dialled my landline and my phone does not ring. Tried several phones.

i live rural with no mobile signal so am paralysed without landline.  Impossible to contact sky with no mobile.  No way of getting help or informing someone the exchange is down.

Honestly it's enough to send someone to their grave how hard it is to get help.

@CherubX

See if you can run this line test to see if a fault is found outside of your property and if something is found you can book an engineer repair, ignore the fact it says it will test your broadband:

You can also run this test via the MySky app.

Let us know how you get on.

Thank you very much but there is absolutely nothing wrong with my broadband.

if, on the app, you try and log a problem with Sky Talk it won't allow you to log that the exchange is faulty!  Just wants you to call on your mobile. That's impossible if you live in an area with no mobile phone signal.

Also, it won't let you book an engineer without a mobile phone number.   So if they text you you will never receive it.  I know because this happened recently to me!  It's sucks!

I'm not sure if you ran the test or not because as I said  ignore the fact it says it will test your broadband as it will test your phone line as well.
