Phone to use with sky talk and sky q hub

i Have a sky q hub- i am using Sky Talk and for full functionality i gather it is best to use a cordless VOIP phone -i would like to know how these phones link with the hub and what model or type of phone is best to buy for this process to ensure they work well together and provide full functionality of voice call system

@peterg5

Not a VoIP phone: that specifically will not work.  The Sky Hub itself converts a conventional handset or DECT base to VoIP.

The most versatile set-up is typically a set of brand-name DECT handsets of whatever number you need.

Thans for that - read that BT phones do not work--so any other DECT phone system will connect --does this plug in to the hub or is just wireless connected -i could not see a phone line type portal on the sky q hub --forgive my ignorance but i want to be sure i make a sensible purchase -thanks Peter

@peterg5  If you have the much older Sky Q hub there isn't a telephone port on it, and unless you have recently joined Sky Broadband or upgraded to FTTP the Q hub would be replaced with a more up-to-date hub that has a telephone port.

If none of this has happened then your phone still plugs into the master socket.

Like you I'm a customer here, Sky Employees are clearly identified as such.

The Q Hub design is a decade old, and all remaining units are being swapped out this year whether or not the users are moving to FTTP because the hardware no longer meets modern standards for functionality and security.

The functionality is no different whether you have Internet calls (Sky VOIP) via broadband  or standard calls via the wall socket. Audio quality of Internet calls is reportedly better.

Thank you to all who replied-i now understand the situation much better--it can be confusing to read instructions and advice that does not seem relevant to the equipment one has so i am really grateful for your advice and information.
