Phone says " check phone line

Hi. 

Had sky broadband connected today. All good except the phone. Cannot make or receive calls. No dial tone. I've gone through all of the help steps posted in this community. Phone was working fine with BT this morning. It's for my elderly mum with an emergency help device connected so important that it's fixed ASAP please. Thanks for any help

It's common for activation of the landline service to take 24 hours or so. Is your phone plugged into your broadband Hub? Do you have a white Max Hub, or a black one?

OK thanks. I wasn't aware of the 24 hour lag. Yes it's plugged into sky hub and the hub is black
