So I've no dial tone. Phones been down since installing the broadband and talk. Used the chat before and was told to check cables etc. boaught new cables to connect directly to the router and to the handset but nothing. Does the phone need to be a certain type if it's hardwired in?

It's two cables connected via a joining block. Perhaps that's the issue. No reason why either isn't working but I'll order a longer cable and try a one connection fix

Is the phone plugged into a mastersocket or the back of your sky router

Is this a full fibre connection?
When were you activated?

@Mikesauns What hub do you have from sky, if it is the SR203 black hub, do you have the four lights all lit green?
With the connection to the hub, you are plugged into the BT style connector marked UK and NOT the other one that is rj11 style.

It's full fibre 500. Activated about a month ago. Didn't realise I had no phone for first two weeks. Installer was rough and rushed. Didn't check or explain anything.

@Mikesauns Only seeing the power lead for the phone, are you sure it is plugged into the back of the hub?

Plugged in but quite an old phone. I assume because it can be connected with the correct plugs that it should be compatible?

@Mikesauns Yes if it is a Analogue style phone like you have should connect ok, see you have 4 lights so the hub has voice switched on to it, and that panasonic should be fine connection wise, have you popped it into the old Master socket to see that you also get no connection on it? Waiting on your pictures to be cleared.

Shouldn't matter how old the phone is skys phone adapter is backward compatible with any phone with a bt socket apart fro m bt digital voice. The check phone line error could be down to the wire not being correctly inserted or faulty .

It was left plugged into the old master box when they installed and it wasn't working. That started my asking questions to Sky regarding the phone. They offered a £20 off the bill for missing weeks of no phone and said about connecting to the hub, which I've now done but there doesn't seem to be any joy. Phone says 'check phone line'
