No landline for over a week

Has anyone else not had a landline over this past week? Every time I ring up I get the same message. 'There's a problem at the exchange, we're working hard to fix it'. It then says it will text me when it's fixed. & thanks me before cutting me off. I had one text message to say the engineer was working on it a few days ago & then nothing. How do I get to talk to someone & find out what's happening?

Sky can only update you with what they've been told by Openreach. Openreach is not the best communicator in that regard. They don't work on domestic faults at weekends or bank holidays. If it's a major issue at the exchange that could change I suppose but somehow I doubt it.

See this link re auto compensation for when there is a total loss of Sky Broadband or Sky Talk. https://www.sky.com/help/articles/auto-compensation

If you have a total loss of service and it isn’t fixed after two full working days from when you first report the fault to Sky, you will become eligible for it once the fault has been fixed. It will come in the form of a credit appearing on your account.

Re: No landline for over a week

Thanks for the advice. Unfortunately calling the help number just ends up with an automated service saying they will text me when it fixed. It's the 26th now so it's unlikely that anything is being done. Really disappointed with Sky on this one. Guess that I'll have to claim compensation. Thanks for letting me know about that.

Sky can only pass on to you such updates as they have received from Openreach and Openreach are notoriously bad at providing them.
