New to sky today connected router working ok however phone not working on incoming calls/ not ringin

Can any explain why my phone is not working or ringing on in coming calls but can make out going.

Have connected my digital phone to back of router as instructed, have dialling tone and can make out going call but incoming not working and phone not ringing.

If your broadband was activated today it can take up to 24 hours for the phone side to start working so if you still have the issue come tomorrow post back on here for further help.
