New to Sky and sky talk not acticvated and no green voice light on hub

Hi,

 

I i signed up to sky with tv broadband and sky talk. TV & Broadband work fine but the sky talk doesnt seem to be activated with no green voice light on the sky hub. I have been told this should be getting resolved but that hasnt happend. I get the same responce each time i contact and no idea of when it could get resolved.

When was your broadband service activated? We've seen reports here about a delay in activating the Talk service, but as you've already spoken to Sky about it, I'm afraid it's a matter of waiting for it be resolved.

It was activated last Thursday. 

How will i know when the issue has been resolved or is there any procedure to keep custmers informed as we are in a mobile blackspot with little to no coverage? Will the router need to be reset after the line gets activated or will it just start working. This is why some sort of notification would help as even if the issue gets resolved it could still be not working untl a reset!

They're questions I can't answer, I'm afraid. As I understand it, this is a fault been monitored and managed internally by a Sky network team, not externally by Openreach, hence the usual  procedures may not apply.

 

In your position, I'd be inclined to restart your router once a day to check whether or not it has been fixed.

Over a month later since my last comment and still no sky talk. Is there still a known issue in ROI and UK regarding the sky talk activation and Voice light on te Black Shk Hub Box??

I,don't know the position with the ROI, but in the UK we've seen reports here of a delayed Voice activation, albeit not of a month. I'd raise it with Sky again,

 

We can ask their messaging team to contact you here so that you can report it via a private online chat, if you wish? If you're in the ROI, there may be a hand-off from the UK messaging team to the Sky Ireland team.
