It sounds like you may have a phone designed to work with BT's Digital Voice service. If so, it won't work with Sky, so yes you'll need a new phone. Any standard corded or cordless DECT phone will work with Sky's landline (Talk) service.

A cordless DECT phone, which has a base station which plugs into your broadband Hub, and a free standing handset which connects wirelessly to the base station may be more convenient than a corded phone.

Why won't it plug in? The socket at the back of your Sky broadband Hub is a standard phone socket which suits all standard phones?

Re: New broadband upgrade but left with no phone

Okay thanks, yes it is a BT phone so I guess I'll just get a new DECT cordless phone then, cheers for your help.
