Did you ask for it to be transferred? It's not always possible for Sky to transfer it.

Thanks for your reply. I wasn't given the option. I've changed provider many times and it's always happened automatically. Everything is done online, so you can't even ask the question thesedays.

Unless the online application has changed recently, there's a tick box where you confirm that you want to keep your number.
