Moving wiring from obsolete bt phone plug in box.

We have bt phone line coming into house through wooden window frame which needs moving  to fit new window, also plug in box obsolete as phone now plugs into router.

How do I contact open reach as I guess they do it.

You won't be able to contact Openreach directly. If you speak to Sky, they'll be able to arrange for the cable to be relocated or removed.

Unless you have a separate fibre optic cable to your property, the phone line and master phone socket will still be in use to provide your broadband service.

Re: Moving wiring from obsolete bt phone plug in box.

Hi Mark 39

Was hoping to reply saying all sorted, but no.

Spoke to a Sky Advisor (eventually) he told me to upload photos of the wiring & box, which I did, I asked if I should phone back he said no, he would book a visit from Openreach, waited a few days nothing happened, spoke to another Sky Advisor explained that I had uploaded photos but she didn't seem to be interested in those and said she couldn't book an appoitment with Open reach, it had to go to  ' Network ' whatever that is and I would receive a call within 72 hours, well that was 48 hours ago, do I think I will get a call, NO.

Meanwhile I had an email giving me a case number for my complaint ( what complaint ! ), then an hour later another email to inform me my complaint had been cancelled.

Is it me !!

Your best bet would be to book (and pay for) a 'master socket relocation' without mentioning any other complications, then sort these out when Openreach arrive.  Trying to explain such things to a Sky person is unlikely to be successful.

Re: Moving wiring from obsolete bt phone plug in box.

Thank you for your speedy reply, I fully expect to pay for the work, but I cannot contact Openreach directly, they say it has to go through my provider ( SKY)  how is it so difficult for them to understand such a simple request ?

Yes, it has to be booked through Sky.  That's why I'm suggesting you use the simplest term ('master socket relocation') which they should have a direct option to select from their sales system.
