Moving soon , can I keep my landline number FTTP

Moving soon , waiting on a completion date , once I have this I can tell Sky , tried to get the answer to my question from offshore but they really don't know so have come to the experts  🙂

So, the question , can I keep my "landline" on my move , will still be in the same dialing code area and searching BT it seems possible but totally unsure with Sky.  Currently on FTTP , 300Mbps Full Fibre

Any help, ideas, experience would be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

Regrettably, I think the answer is no more definite than 'possibly'. Personally I haven’t been able to gain a clear understanding of the circumstances in which it's not possible to keep your number - and we quite frequently see posts here from customers who haven't been able to. Another Community me,ber might be able to be more reassuring.

As you've discovered, Sky advisers appear not to be able to say either.

Hey there!
As long as you are moving within the same area code, theoretically, your landline number should remain with you with Sky, subject to their terms and conditions. Best to contact Sky directly with your move-in date though.

That's what I'm hoping , don't have any sentimental value to the number just one less thing to tell people about  , thanks

No, sky does not have the facility to transfer any numbers from one address to another

sky can only port a number for a different provider at the same address

Just as an update , I moved , couldn't take number and due to the issues with sky systems and it not recording my move request for a week I'm without phone and/or broadband until 25th of the month , would have cost me £££s to leave so managed to negotiate a month off for lack of supply of service and now tethering on an unlimited SIM until then

I moved within the same area code but wasn't able to keep my old number which originally was a BT line/number.  The property I moved to had to have a line installed and I was given a completely new number.  Wouldn't have helped to keep old line running until new one was installed.  But irritating after having a number for 30 years.

Yep , same area code , house I moved to was also with Sky but FTTC and they couldn't give me that as a stop gap , hopefully the man with the van will arrive on wednesday 25th and I'll be back on fibre , tethering has seen me through to now but at times it's been like dial up , how did I survive in those days ! 😂

As a further update , no engineer turned up , call from Openreach today to reschedule for over a week away and they said the engineer ran out of time yesterday. Had a txt yesterday morning to say he was working on it , so why couldn't he go back to it today. Can see the green box from my window and nobody touched it. Have complained to Openreach and Sky. If it wasn't going to cost me so much to cancel sky in it's entirety I'd be off.
