Moved to sky broadband, telephone not working, says Check Phone Line
Turned the router and phone off and on, nothing seems to have shifted. Landline basically not working.

What was your activation date? Is your phone plugged into your broadband Hub?

Activation date was yesterday. Yes phone is plugged into router, have turned both router and phone off at the mains, the phone still says 'Check Phone Line' and doesn't have a dial tone.

The phone servoce can take up to 24 hours to activate fully. I'd suggest waiting for that to elapse then restarting your Hub. If the Voice light isn't green after doing that, and you still have no dial tone, let us know and we'll try to get you some help here, rather,than you having to call in.
