Landline unable to receive incoming calls since Sky broadband activated

Since having Sky Broadband activated, now unable to receive incoming calls. When ringing number from a mobile get message 'number invlaid' yet if I ring same mobile from landline it connects OK!

 

can anyone assist with my issue?

That rules out a number change. If your Sky service was activated today, you might want to give it 24 hours to make sure activation has been fully completed. If it's longer than that, I'd report a fault to Sky. You can do that by calling 150, or if you wish we can alert Sky and they may be able to help via a private online chat here. Calling is likely,to be quicker.

Did you switch from another provider? Your number may have changed. If you dial 17070 from your landline phone, the recorded message will give you your number.

Hi,

 

yes switched from BT but brought existing landline number to Sky. Tried calling the 17070 number a few times but line goes dead after connecting. If I ring my mobile from the landline it displays the correct landline number. If I try ringing landline from mobile just get 'invalid number' error message. Very strange!

Rang Sky help on 150, did system reset both locally and at Sky end - problem sorted. Landline now working correctly.

I am the same, switched from Bt to Sky, took my number and checked my welcoming pack to make sure my number had NOT changed. It hadn't. My landline has not rang in the house since 6th August, I got suspicious and tried calling myself from my mobile, it did not ring then, I tried to se ei fit would ring out, NOTHING no ringtone or dial tone on lifting. I can't seem to get an saner to this. I removed each plugin from my BT router one at a time and inserted into the new Sky router. Broadband up & running in no time, so can someone advise to what the problem might be thank you, ALL,lights on router are GREEN.. Including VOICE (which I take is the phone) I have unplugged router several times to see if restarting would make a difference to no avail. Help Any0ne?

@katfrac first, can you confirm your phone is plugged into the socket at the back of your Sky Hub?

 

It won't work if it's plugged into the wall socket.

Yes it is plugged into the purple socket at the back of the router..

I think, you'll need to report it to Sky, then. You can either give them a ring, or if you wish we can alert Sky and the Community advisers may be able to help via a private online chat later today. Do be aware that responses from Sky via an online chat are unlikely to be immediate, so just check back from time to time.

I would appreciate if you could alert as I got nowhere with calling them..

Thenonly reason I need my land,ine is for my health team to get in touch with me, otherwise I wouldn't even bother with it..

Hi Mark

Sorry I wasn't back on yesterday, My son, who actually works for SKY came to see what he could do to help with my phone after work.. And success, everything is now working fine. But I still would like to thamk you for your help..And appreciate the quick reply to my question in the first place..

Thank You Lisa for arranging a chat, I could not get back online yesterday due to other commitments, But have replied to Mark this morning & am doing so now to yourself, to say that all is well now, my son who works for Sky called in after his work and found the problem, whcih he fixed so all is good now. But thank you for all your help, & quick responses on this community.
