Landline number lost as part of upgrade

Hi, Can someone please help me with which number to call regarding a landline number lost as part of an upgrade that was mistakingly handled as a new contract? I've tried calling the broadband helpline 5 times and don;t seem to be getting anywhere. Latest call I was given a number to call for the number porting department and it's a dead line when I call it.

Re: Landline number lost as part of upgrade

I'm thinking of moving to Sky from BT where I have 1GB full fibre & a router connected digital phone  package but the last thing I'd want is to lose my phone number during the transfer.

@Susanc4 unless Sky give you a particular number to call, all numbers go to customer services. What have Sky said to you when you've spoken to them?

@Caravanj realistically, that is a possibility, I'm afraid.

@Mark39  Thanks for your reply, a new number won't be a deal breaker if my current provider won't drop their price to match Sky's price.

Go for it! At least you're forewarned of the possibility, so it won't come as a total shock if you do happen to lose your number in the transfer.

That they would cancel the new contract and my old number would come back. Cancelled and didn't come back. Give it 24hours....give it another 24hours....switch it all off....reset it.....switch it off for an hour and I'll call you back at 7.....no call!

called this morning and they gave me a 0207 number which is dead....

@Susanc4 unfortunately I think you're going to have to call Sky back again - I certainly wouldn't wait for them to call you. You might want to raise a complaint: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/how-to-make-a-complaint

Thanks, I think you are right. Any idea which department I should ask to speak to?

@Susanc4 not really, but they mentioned number porting before, so that might be worth a go ( if they don't give you the same dead number as the did before, of course.)
