Re: Landline not working since full fibre installed
The problem I have is I have no room for my telephone or a spare socket for it to go next to the router.
The original BT engineer that came out was going to wire the telephone cables into the white modem box but he couldn't complete the install due to an underground blockage (couldn't get the fibre cable in).

I have full fibre broadband but i have and was sent a sky wifi max hub and my phone is plugged into the phone port on the hub and works fine, i did not have to have the phone wired in the the optical network terminal

I don't know what the engineer was planning to do, but it doesn't sound like a standard installation. You could use a standard telephone extension cable plugged into the Hub phone socket, so that you can place the phone somewhere more convenient?

With full fibre your telephone socket will no long work everything will come down the fibre optic cable tothe optical network terminal

Ok that's full fibre broadband, my sky max wifi hub us connected to the optical network terminal and my telephone land line is connected to the hub and works fine

All is sorted now. BT came out Thursday and my landline is now working! Apparently my phone line was still connected to the telephone exchange so has now been disconnected so my calls are going through the internet now.

How did you manage to get someone to come out. 4 weeks and no landline and no avail to get anyone to listen

Hi. The original BT engineer that came out left me his mobile number as he envisaged me having some problems with the phone set up and he came back out to sort it for me after the underground cabling was sorted.

My fibre connection is fully up and running but I do not have any landline phone connection
it says check the phone line we have 3 handsets around the house and all say the same.
Please explain if I do not have a phone line with the new fibre cable

Yes, by default you have a landline service. Is your phone plugged into your broadband Hub? No phone will work if it's plugged into a wall socket.
And when was your fibre service activated?

Finally got ours sorted after going through hell. Had to email the ceo to get anywhere. It's a common fault of the new fibre. Took us 6 weeks but have been fully compensated and the main thing is, it works.
