Landline not working…it’s been over 2 years still not fixed!

Landline has no dial tone. Occasionally it rings so I know it's not the phone. I've had an engineer out who couldn't find a fault and blamed phone so I bought a new one. Same thing. 
nobody is helping me and I'm tearing my hair out!  
help!!!

2 years!? I assume you've been following it up with Sky over that period. What have they said/done?

I've complained and have a complaint reference number but they just keep sending me round in circles 😩

What have Sky actually said and done? Has your complaint been answered?

Yes answered in June but due to personal issues it's been on hold, now I've reopened the case but they just don't get back to me. Been with them over 20 years so much for vip lol

You'll probably have to wait for their response - it can be several weeks. But we can try some basics.

 

What's the background to this? Has you phone service ever worked while you've been with Sky for broadband and phone?

 

Does your broadband Hub have an LED on the front panel labelled 'Voice' and is the LED lit?

I've had two engineers out one years ago who fixed it (a cross-wiring fault at the exchange 🤷‍♀️) but it went off before Covid hit and hasnt been on since. Had another engineer out last year who tried everything and changed the micro filter but left saying it must be your phone!
It's not the phone cos I've tried it in next doors and it's fine. The phone occasionally rings but is silent on answering. No dial tone. 

Yes there's a voice button but it's not lit.

all was working fine for years. Been with sky well over 20 years. 
Any suggestions welcome thanks!
