Landline not working following new Max Hub installed

Recently had FTTP installed, the Openreach engineer left with the internet working but not the landline, she said to contact Sky, which I did and they talked me through disconnecting all the hub and ONT connections then reconnecting them, this worked.

I'd been having a few issues with WiFi signal strength with my SR203 hub, so I borrowed a SR213 (Max) hub to see if it improved, which it did, however the landline no longer works (no ringtone but a beeping a little like the engaged tone).

I've disconnected everything, rebooting the hub both by pressing and holding the WPS button and from the hub settings menu but it still doesn't work, with the SR203 hub all 4 lights were green and the landline worked, on the SR213 there is a steady white light, internet working fine with good speeds just no landline.

When you try to ring the landline you get a message saying "Sorry the number you are calling is temporarily unavailable, please try again later. Sorry you've dialed an incorrect number, please check and try again"

Any advice greatly appreciated.

@Alan4257

Is your phone connection plugged into the back of your broadband hub ?

@Alan4257 I believe the Max Hub (SR213) has to be registered to your account on Sky's systems. How that registration takes place - manually by Sky or automatically on connection - I'm not sure.

If this is an unofficially borrowed Hub, it may be registered against another customer's account? Or just unregistered? I suspect the lack of landline functionality is tied up with that somehow.

Thanks Mark, I thought I'd try it to see what the WiFi signal was like before I ordered one from Sky (I think it's an extra £4 a month for the Max hub)

@Alan4257

If you add Broadband Max to your account then you can have a maximum of 3 pods to help boost your signal around your property as well:
