Landline not working after having super-fast broad band instaled

On 8th April we had super-fast broad band installed  by Openreach, a 4.2 hub. I was told by the engineer that when the landline stopped working with the old cable, to plug the phone in to the back of the new router where it says uk and a phone symbol.  I did this on Saturday 12th but it still doesn't work. Incoming calls says number not recognised and funny sounds when trying to  ring out. Have tried ringing 17070 as I've seen mentioned in previous notes on similar problems. Can anyone help.

Is the Voice LED on the front panel illuminated? Amber or green?

First try restarting your Hub by switching off at the plug for 30 minutes or so. If that doesn't resolve it, it might be just taking a bit longer than usual to activate, but it's probably best reported to Sky. Try the restart first, then we can ask Sky's messaging team to contact you here tomorrow so that you can report it via a private online chat, if you wish.

Sorry I haven't been in touch. We went away or a few days and switched off the hub as you suggested.  Upon our return switched hub back on and our phone worked. So thank you very much for your assistance.

With a lot of things going wrong for us recently with SKY it was great to have something fixed.
