Landline has not worked for two weeks,it has been reported to sky

Engineer came yesterday and said it is not the telegraph pole or the phone line and he said he will be back this morning and he still has not been,and we still can not make or receive any calls on the landline

An engineer may be working on your line remotely, at the exchange for example.
