Landline Phone dead but internet is fine

Hello there sorry for the bother.

 

Recently today my Landline Phone is not working. No Dial Tone and I can't make any calls or receive any calls. I tried changing to a new phone and it's still not working. I wanted to ask if it was possible for the Phone Network to be down yet not effect Internet?

 

Could I please get some advice on this as it's hampering my ability to handle tasks at home?

@RoscosoAre you in the Colchester area at all, did see that they had a broadband outage ongoing?

I'm afraid not I'm in Cairneyhill nearby Dunfermline in the Fife Region.

Also just to make sure my Internet is for some reason still working fine so I've got no issue with the Broadband yet the Landline Phone my Sky Talk isn't working. 

 

Might it require Openreach Assistance?

It might Try the connection test here first, even though your broadband is working ok: https://www.sky.com/help/articles/broadband-diagnostic-start

Yes I tried that and it's showing me as no issues with the Sky Broadband is working as normal yet my Sky Talk isn't.

Probably best to report it to Sky, in thay case. We can ask Sky's messaging team to contact you here so that you can report it via a private online chat, if you wish?

OK, I've alerted Sky and a Community adviser may be able to help you via private, online messaging later today. Look out for a blue/red chat 'bubble' towards the bottom of the page. Replies from Sky may not be instant, so check back from time to time for updates. Once the chat is activated it remains open for 48 hours, after which it will automatically close..
