Joined Sky last week but landline still doesn’t work
Joined Sky on the 10th September and the broadband is fine - have the white hub, but the phone doesn't work. We cannot call out and it can't receive calls either. We have a cordless phone that we have plugged into the router in the UK phone socket. We asked to keep our old number. Please help.

Can anyone help or have any suggestions please, we need a landline for medical appointment calls but they cannot get through at the minute and we cannot call the doctors if needed.

XaRe: Joined Sky last week but landline still doesn’t work
I have exactly the same issue. Transferred from Virgin on 20th September. Broadband and TV fine but no working phone since. Was meant to be a number port.
Every time I phone I get cut off, or the once I got through I was lied ro that it can take days!!
Online complaints form submitted but Sky just ignore the issue.

That's correct. It can take several days for the Talk service to be activated. There are a number of posts here reporting the same.

But when transferring was assured no loss in service and it would be the same day

That certainly applies so far as broadband is concerned, but appears not to be the case for the phone service. What Sky has told you is correct.

Spoken to Sky number has ported
Done hard reboot of router as advised by them
Still no phone working ......

I'm the same, moved from BT to Sky as Broadband, Talk and TV.
TV and Broadband great all working on day.
Talk has never worked, if you ring it you just get number temporarily unobtainable.
Been chatting via here with support but I think they've given up, keep saying it's with the 'network team'.
This was on the 10th and by my reckoning I should be up to £68 in compensation, unless I'm reading this page wrong.
