I don't want to run cables for a phone extension so can you get a wireless phone line extender that connects to the sky router?

Find out moreNo, but you can buy a cordless DECT phone kit, where the base station plugs into your Hub and a cordless phone handset connects wirelessly to the base station. There are kits available with as many handsets as you wish, or you could buy one with a single handset which you can take with you from room to room.

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately I have an existing phone that I want to use so I guess I will have to hardwire an extension.

Note that once the voice connection is from the Hub, wired extension sockets are not intended to function: you'll need to research Voice Re-Injection (VRI) and potentially have to modify the master socket, which is of dubious legitimacy.

That's a very helpful video.
Good to see that he emphasises the Openreach network side of the Master Socket shouldn't be interfered-with, and confirming that the ATA outputs almost 50v (we can probably assume a Sky Broadband Hub does the same)
