Unless you have a fibre optic cable to your home your broadband service is delivered via the phone line, so you would lose both.
Better to just unplug your phone.

Make sure you're on the Sky Pay As You Talk tariff (call Sky if you're not). That way if you make no calls there are no Sky Talk charges.

Cancelling the direct debit is the worse thing you can do. That would prevent you being able to pay your monthly bill, which would make you in breach of contract and would negatively affect your credit rating.
What issue are you having when you are calling Sky? Personally i've never had an issue when i've needed to call Sky, expect perhaps having to wait on hold for 15-20 minutes until an advisor was free.

Just unplug it?
You cannot cancel the 'line rental' element of the subscription while continuing to receive terrestrial broadband: online articles on saving money that way are fundamentally misleading.
