I have sky phone calls for 9mths for 3weeks my phone has not worked now i have been told I need voic

They told me I need voice actived phone but phone had worked for 9mths at 75 I have never heard of them could someone please help me

@Toni+Cornishafter paying £140 for new phones my son phoned sky after 10mins she spoke to engineer who told her the voice actived was in router which I said was faulty from start so she is sending out new router finger's  crossed thanks to everyone who tried to help

Nor me. Do you have internet calls - is your phone plugged into your broadband Hub? If so, there's a light on the front panel labelled Voice. Is it lit? Which colour?

@Confused751 your phone must be plugged into your broadband Hub. It won't work if it's plugged into the wall socket.

@Mark39  it is plugged into router sky said I have emails and phone calls I haven't answered phone has worked all right for 9mths now thy say I have wrong type of phone my son has asked for engineer to come out or send new router out as he thinks it is something to do with router

@Confused751 sadly we've seen before that some customer advisers think you need a different phone for Sky Internet calls. They're wrong, you don't. Any standard phone should work, just as yours has for the last 9 months - something which the adviser appears to have ignored.

 

If Sky has agreed to send an engineer then they should be able to sort it,out, but if not, and you need further help, post again and we'll escalate to Sky for you.

I suspect the reference was to VOIP rather than voic or voice activation.  As @Mark39 and @caesarome indicate, this is erroneous anyway, because a VOIP handset is not required.
