I have a new sky router but I don’t want my phone in the same room as the router?

This is solved, sky have agreed to move router location foc.  Thanks for the  help

If you subscribe to Fibre the phone has to be plugged into the rear of the hub. That doesn't stop you from having an additional cordless phone (linked to the main handset) elsewhere in the house as well. That would plug into a normal main socket.

@PFCGAZ a DECT cordless phone is the simplest solution. The base station plugs into your broadband Hub and the phone handset connects wirelessly to it, so you can place the handset wherever you wish.

Thanks for the reply. It's more that the room where the router is is used for consulting clients for counselling, and ringing are a distraction.

It's only the base station that needs to be connected to your broadband Hub. If it has a ringer (mine doesn't) you should be able to turn it off in the settings.

Gigaset has a handset range with a separate base station.

 

Note that you don't want their VoIP hardware.
